Belief and Afterlife

The process of 'belief' is more important than the belief itself as one thing comes before the other in a progressive mind, which is the present conscious state of humanity.

Without the root there is no flower and without the soil no root.  This is an example of progressive thinking, again which is our conditioned state.  In the mind, one thing comes before the other, as in everything has a root to progress from.

The Afterlife is born from a mind that is not in contact with Life.  It "thinks" its alive and living.  But if we are it - Life - it is not a question or a desire to be fulfilled.  Look closely, why is living so dissatisfying that an afterlife is required?  Because a mind guided by the belief that living ends will require and afterlife to fill the emptiness from the limits of living.

We have to observe this for ourselves.  There is only the struggle and hope of the afterlife, if one is disconnected with Life, because Life is a continuance, not an ending.

Ip'id: No Tricks Apology

Ip'id grew aware that a trick of the ego will do this:
You quarrel with someone, perhaps with a friend, boss, paramour etc. You stumble out of character, screaming to embarrassment, and you storm away from each other.

Later you calmed yourself, thoughts come to you rationally, and you wonder about your actions and character.  You don't like it.

You must make amends, and go to them and apologize because you know better and won't let it happen again.

But it will happen again because the ego will slip again and repeat the pattern because it is not a sincere thing if unrecognized. So it rebuilds itself as before the quarrel by asking for forgiveness.

However, if we take rational thoughts, sit down and meditate, look back at our actions, behavior, words spoken, the state of unconscious behavior etc. we become aware...That is the moment to apologize because we're now speaking from our being, the center of ourselves...a place of calm.

We then apologize as directed by our being, what meditation has taught and opened up to us.  Our being.  Then explain you were unconscious, irrational and confused who you were, but now I see clearly the error and of my tricky ego.  Now continue the relationship without false apologies.

Ip'id: Valued

I have heard—When Ip’id was five years old, he found himself lost in the village market - separated from his mother.  She frantically searched for him in all directions; in this alley way and in that one, down this road and that—calling him as she ran.
Finally, she went back to the spot of his disappearance, and asked all the vendors; some knew of Ip'id but they remembered seeing him with her.  Hearing this news, her heart pounded and mind flurried with anxiety as never before - he is her only child.

Close by in the tavern, the men and women were drunk and 'having a time', as laughter and filthy jokes spewed from the entrance.  She would never purposely enter a place like that, “But,” she thought, “the mob would love to make sport of him.” And she knew he’d at least be safe there, so off she ran.  As she bound through the door, the horde fell silent at 'her sort' venturing in - the red and glossy eyes stared upon her.

Someone knew of her. “Ahh! Nahra! Come for a drink, have ya? There’s room enough on my knee fur ya. Ha! Ha! HAAA!” The horde laughed in unison.
“You’ll have my knee in your groin if ya don’t tell me where my Ip’id is.” Her tone was serious and sharp. “Have ya seen him?” He and others had not.  “I’ve lost ‘im at the market.” Her speech meshed tears and desperation.
“Mother,” the voice came from behind her, “were you thinking of that day, again?” Ip'id observed a familiar expression on her face.
“Yes, I was.” She agreed. “Even the day you were given to me, didn't teach me of value until that day.”

Social Learning Theory

Albert Bandura theorized that modeling, imitation or observational learning was a powerful source of development in humans at an early age.
  1. We learn by observing parents, friends, TV, symbolic models as books, radio and film.
  2. We learn by intrinsic, and internal thought; reinforcements play a major role.
  3. Observational leaning does not necessarily lead to imitated or changed behavior.
  4. Basically, in this process, our behavior increases by external stimuli via social reinforcement and or punishment.
But we must question, is 'expansion' learning?  What is perceived as an increase? More knowledge?  Yet this is an accumulation and in doing so, there comes confusion, sorting things out.  More is not necessarily without conflict.  And how does the mind/we sort out confusion?...By simplifying reality via circumstance, thus, by assigning 'attributes' or labeling the immediate environment.  In this manner, we/mind can predict and secure ourselves.  Yet, something that is afraid, looks for security.

Thereby, if the mind is habitually cycled in securing itself, then expansion is mute.  Expansion is illusory.  We see if one is afraid to wonder outside, one is afraid, not expanding or simulating with the environment.  We expand when we realize that limitations secure and divide, therein, we must look and observe past 'learning' as a pinnacle of humanity.                                           www.eckharttolle.com  www.psychologytoday.com

Change and Hope #33

Don’t we hope there is change from the misery and sorrows of living?  Why does the mind settle on hope?  Is it because we're conditioned and promised by authority as children, adolescence and into adults that 'things take time? Sadly, hope is time-ridden, as things must be planned, build, executed and then changed.  All related in time, not the present.

We hope that people cease creating the sorrows of the world and setting the stage for tomorrows suffering.  We hope that happens, but does that signify change?  Is 'hope,' change?  No. As hope is in the future, in time, therefore, not an action in the moment or circumstance.  Hope, though, admirable, changes nothing.  It instead paralyzes and sustains.

Observe that change is a structure; it has a cause, effect, then a beginning, middle and end result or goal.  That is the progressive and possessive mind.  Thereby, is not the creation of conflict or creation of structure, the creation of hope?  In observing this, we eliminate hope, which creates significant change, as change is then no longer built falsely on the past or future.  Which then takes place in the present, without time (past or future).

The reliance on hope merely perpetuates the illusion that change will occur, but how without our participation?  It is not a matter of dictation from authority in 'what to do.'  And we cannot hope or pray for change, we must participate and embrace structure in order to understand our illusions of hope.   www.mindful.org www.osho.com www.eckharttolle.com

Living and Dying #32

Everything within you, around you, things you like, dislike, love and hate is what we call "living."  This is not a comparison, which is a reaction deemed normal.  Living.  We accept it consciously and not always subconsciously, but it is still a dead thing.  Nothing grows from comparisons only flounders in decisions.

All the violence, war, pleasure, conflict, jealousy, division and so forth are all measures of living.  Accept them or not, they are within our action as the creators.  What is known is our doing, from a shared and controlled past.

There are many psychological and physical forms of dying; we die to bad habits, prejudices, truths, magic, superstitions, and endless symbols.  In observing our divided and conflicted world, is it not a matter of survival to 'willing' die? Psychologically? For the world? Just as death in wars for honor, why not for vitalizing existence?

Dying is not a fearful acquisition, but a pleasure, joy, peaceful and of great importance.  As it is and understanding and freedom from the past conflicts.  As with living, it is feared and shunned.  In Life it is the celebration and rebirth.  An encumbrance of the toils of living.

A Simulated Division

Why are we pulled to nature?  Pulled to the garden, to the forest, woods or lake?  We have pets.  There are scientists who fetch animals from nature and fill zoos and museums.  But surely not for study only.  This act of simulation is intrinsic in humans.

It is the subconscious effort (at the homeostatis level where the body regulates stability) to simulate with our nature, get back to simplicity of an intelligent existence.  There is always an action trying to simulate, even for a short while; standing in the rain, wind, cold, heat or watching a fire.  We always stare at weather, a stream, lake or ocean.

However, within simulation, division is conditionally reacting and without it, there is no simulation, but it reveals intelligent urges for an existence of intelligence, ease, vitality, energy, and presence. As we are not present, connected or enthusiastic about Life, rather, we're separated by the idea of Living by 'thought'.

In our state of confusion and conflict, isn't there more clarity when we discover something?  Like listening to a stream, children at play, beautiful sunset - this is discovery - and rare - as the mind is broadened and expands with less division, more energy, which is closer to simulation...a connection.  Love. Mindfulness. Godliness.   www.sadhguru.org  www.mindful.com www.osho.com

Shoot the Tree, Not the Body

Often we hear someone or something was either killed or destroyed because it is believed it/they crossed some moral belief, law, boundary, code, truth etc.  It is humanly wasteful when violence occurs when this cognitive line is crossed.

Someone says something unexpected, perceived as rude, unholy, fearful, said in the wrong building or social circumstance.  It happens, we've all reacted or been the brunt of the reaction.  Some are so furious, they hate, despise or kill another.  It is power our reactionary conditioning, but curable.

How did it happen that value in a tree is more than the body.  This is metaphoric, but watch this.  Man goes into the forest and cuts down a tree, then turns it into furniture because it now has value. We're then told to protect it...with our lives if necessary. Simple, but frighteningly real because in this concept, many lives have been lost to suffering because the tree is now more valuable then the body.

Invariably someone is going to argue, lash-out, condemn, hate, or think this message is stupid etc. Generally because of rights, culture expectation, belief etc. This is not clear rational.  But such reactions remind us what we value, truly...the tree or the body...existence?  www.sadhguru.org  www.osho.com

No Purpose in Life

There is a distinction between Life and what we think and learn 'is' life.  Generally, there will be denial because there must be a purpose because we're alive and have dreams, goals, knowledge, faith, ambition etc.  Or one has delved into themselves and has become aware of Life, not what is thought about it culturally or nationally.  Thought is the distance between living and Life.

Rarely do we meet someone enlightened who has journeyed from living one way--within the ego's structure of thought--to a continued journey of Life.

We must ask ourselves, what happens if there is no purpose?  The question has no answer or a belief, but an experience, an inward journey, whereby all belief, fear, doubt and faith have dropped through awareness of a false purpose and what remains is Life.

It is this journey which unfolds a true, rooted and everlasting purpose with no beginning and no end.  For life is what we are, a continuance.  And discovering that is purpose enough.

Violence and Non-violence #30

Acceptance in ideas are basic forms of initial violence, they come into our lives without notice. If we're aware of it, there would be no acceptance.  Why accept and live with violence?

We abhor violence, yet we invite it in our lives and relationships. Yet we react as if violence comes to us from another, just as we believe love comes through another.  As with love, you have to be it to live and express it, anything else is a personification of love.

Violence is equally as befuddling, as we accept the loving and social ideas and images which are used like a sword to strike violence upon ourselves and others.  We say we don't mean to, but their it is, in our minds, waiting for the opportunity to explode at the slightest contradiction or threat to our embedded ideals and beliefs.

What then is non-violence?  Is it real? Or just an escape for the mind?  Of course, it isn't real.  There is violence or nothing! What is the opposite of love? Nothing! If we are attacked, we want it to cease, but the mind turns the escape into non-violence, the illusion of security and a false pursuit.

We need only be mindful of the incipient and provenance of violence, then we see clearly non-violence as nonsense!

Illusions of Individuality #155

How is it possible to be an Individual?  Are we not sharing the same education, history, desires, sorrow, fear etc.?...Everything that is consciousness?

Why would “thought” and “consciousness” not be shared?  Are we not teaching our children with this shared experience?  Which came from our parents, educational system and teachers?  What we learn is what we become and react to.  This is conditioning.

This is a shared experience, not an individual choice or belief.  No one chooses to be conditioned.  Choice is the individual justifying its belief, history, education etc. or the reaction of conditioning.  It isn't real thing or why justify?  Because when we are rooted, there is no comparison.

And what is the purpose of individualism?  A place where the ego and image can justify its knowledge and belief?
Sharing is not a distant thing; it is close, real, life and evolution. Life is source, law, timeless; the individual is the illusion. www.osho.com www.eckharttolle.com

Truth and Fact #24

This has happened to you, hasn't it? Someone you know says something about someone or something and you immediately think it's the truth.  Watch! Did you contradict them or accept it?  We see it in our actions; we either call them on it or not.  It's one thing to say, "Come on! That's not true." Or "Tell me more."  Fine, but how often does one go into the difference between Fact and Truth?

I've had this conversation with a hand full of people.  I was the instigator because of the awareness; this person needed additional input and thought provoking insight.  They didn't need me to confirm if the information or rumor was valid--not the point--they needed to go beyond this level of pettiness.

Let's be clear, hearing information from someone is a reflection of themselves which has become a universal truth unto themselves, culture, image, ego etc. Note, that everyone comes to the conclusion of truth by a system of belief, culture, tradition, faith, expectation, thereby conditioned.

And Fact?  How does one arrive at fact and differentiate it from truth?  Look past the limits of truth and see that Fact if not arriving from somewhere, there is no journey, it isn't cultivated via tradition, faith or any other forms of conditioning.  When I mention the earth is made of dirt, water, fire and sky, that is fact.  We don't have to think, debate, vote, punish or coerce each other over it.  It is without dispute.  Truth cannot stand by it.  Therein we see that fact is not of the mind, this is the trouble with truth.  Once this is realized, the fact of you transcends the truths of life.  www.mindful.org  www.eckharttolle.com www.osho.com

There is no "You" #137

"You" have lived with "you" all of your existence and no one has denied this fact for any rational or practical reason.  "You" have been given a name, personality, desires, expectation, rules, faith, friendships and pain.

"You" have been moving through this cloud of responsibilities without any clear direction.  Responsibilities that we can not handle or understand.  Before you could walk and talk "you" was creeping and building into your Being by your parents as your name, gender, clothes, brothers or sisters, parents, house etc. and when will you question any of it?

Why question? "You" are normal to "you" and your obedience is enforced by your parents, peers and forms of authority.  Later as "you" grow, this misunderstanding, will show itself when "you" "rebel" as parents or teachers put it.  All rooted in your misunderstanding of what is happening to you, not purely because you didn't follow the 'rules of the house' or the teacher.

But because as unaware parents or guardians, "you" were passed on via love and concern for "you" in the future.  Your parents wanted better for you in the future. But, what will "you" do when you have children?  Will you build another "you"?  Is it not better to let go of "you" and all its misunderstanding, confusion, violence and doubt as you discover a way "out" of the ego and present a reality with the observance of "you"?  True, "you" matter, but if "you" desire a 'better future' for them, what will the real you do?

Wisdom and Education#28

The educated man is looking to do something to a life he doesn't understand, a world he knows nothing about and a fate he cannot see or control.

The educated man is wondering what is going on with his well made and executed plans; why the wars, diseases, pollution and social division?

The educated man is forever caught within the prism of his own narrow and painful thinking. Caught!

The educated man debates about knowledge and all it has, is an will do in the future while he never lives in the present.

One day the educated man heard of, and sought out, the wise man, curious and already thinking less of him before meeting him. Face to face and before the educated man could speak, the wise man said, "Sit and listen, and all will fade."  Instead the educated man began questioning and talking until a man sitting nearby began to laugh.  Not at him but at himself.  The educated man asked, "what is so funny?" he felt foolish.  The man replied, "I did the same thing a year ago, and all questions have faded."  www.LookWithinYou.com  www.osho.com

You Think Too Much#72

You "think" too much.  Years ago someone told me this during a discussion.  I'd never been told that before so I meditated on it.  I don't remember the exact conversation, but I replied, "If you don't you'll just follow".  It was the first think that came to mind, also it was relevant.
I felt defensive for a moment which was hidden in my response, however, no need to retaliate for someone speaking their mind. Still, it struck me odd, these words represented a large part of society who have trouble understanding themselves, which happens when we deny self-observance.
How do you understand working on a car when you don't study it?   The mind is similar as it invented the car.  I thought, "how did she come to this conclusion?"  And how is it possible to "think" too much?  That's not really the issue...
They didn't understand themselves enough to say, "I don't understand you or why you think the way you do because I don't understand me."  The reaction to someone who seems to analyse 'every little thing' is merely observant and reaching their potential as humans.  The mind does expand without resistance or imitation. But, please, don't think too much.  www.osho.com

Quick to Hate #153

Many times we find ourselves reacting unconsciously to a word, look, smell, sound, whatever is unacceptable. Then for selfish and secure reasons and beliefs etc. we launch our defensive attack.  Our ego and image are hurt, exposed, fearful and in need of repair. Which can lead to hate.

Why so quick to hate, dismiss or neglect?  To some degree it is a natural response, which is whole, but a reaction is partial, narrow, divided and conditioned.  In this state, our first or initial reactions is to reject something that has been taught as traditional or cultural.  That is when we react, because that action is reduced in scope, where response is whole and expansive to all.  Like picking up a banana peel so no one slips because we know it benefits all who pass.

We must be aware that in that moment of rejection, the lower levels of consciousness are guiding your actions, not ones words. Our words are merely a messenger of those lower level memories and conditional responses.  One might call it the unconscious actions of the conscious while unaware of its origin.

Reconsider won't you, the next time you reject and dismiss someone and realize that beyond thought, the subconscious is forming those words and behavior. And in that observance put 'hates' energy on reconciliation, acceptance, understanding, godliness and embracing the ugliness within. For we can't heal unless we identify with the pain.www.osho.com

Joy and Peace #16

"Peace", as we understand, is motivated by ideals, image, faith, war and struggle, but importantly a reaction to social conflict.  We hear leaders say "peace is the answer and needed throughout the world." But why is conflict associated with "peace"? Please, this is not about local or regional threats, but why is there an association with conflict and peace?

Because 'peace' is an outcome, a social or personal goal or desire. We vote, petition and agree that it is necessary and 'the way things should be.'  We want peace so we can stay distracted with making money, consuming, gaining power and pursuing material things.  We spend years in school and millions on it.  That is the association with conflict.

When then is there time for observance of "joy"?  Do we see that "Joy" is a word with no past or future progressive action?  It is a word not implying action or movement. Not pleasure or happiness which are inducted or desired.  Suppose "joy" isn't a word at all? Because the word 'joy' is not joy.
So, then if a word carries no past or future progressive action then it is useless. Which is what 'joy' is, not man-made for conflict.  We want words to be useless because no conflict rises and joy can just be what it is--clarity, vitality and energy.  Watch a baby and see it for yourself, that "bundle of Joy."  Again, suppose it's not a word, but space.  You may not see it, but we're all looking for empty, silent space, humming with joy.

Imagination#27

'Use your imagination' is a statement often associated with adolescents and adults, not with children.  With them we say with admiration, 'what an imagination you have.'  In the statement, there is a longing as one is separate from the experience.

From a child's perspective, they know nothing of the meaning, no sense of absence. How are they to conceive what they are? Because a child isn't separate from the experience of imagination. For instance, while playing they look happy, which is their state and experience.

Unlike the adult; forever striving, searching, pondering and hoping for a rekindled imagination and happiness.  Why such effort for consistent happiness?  It appears the death of imagination is the death of happiness in its purest form.

A child is evidence of imagination.  Watch, observe what they're teaching you. Do they judge? Hold a grudge? Avoid conflict? Lie? These are taught later. Remember, there is nothing dead about a child--this is how the imagination and happiness live on. www.mindful.org  www.LookWithinYou.com

Hope is Desire

Don't take this literally.
Hope is a desire,
a desire to be away from yourself,
yourself, that you don't understand,
We don't understand so we look to the future for healing, guidance.

To become desireless
one must look past the desire,
look past the belief in a higher power or form
past a power the doubtful mind cannot fathom.
How is the doubtful mind acting purely or knowing truth?

We cannot know that which is immaterial,
something so vase and unknowing, that one must personify it
put it within our understanding; make it think like us, and act like us to control our destiny.  But it is not human.

It is Law. The universe, heavens, creation, the eternal and reality are all one Law.
We cannot rely on a law to hear our pleas,
We must follow law and find bliss,
We must let it be so that we may be.
Become it, not oppose it.  www.osho.com www.eckharttolle.com

Root of Song

Why do we like some music immediately and some not?
Why does this occur?

No, we don't mean on the conscious level, whereby, the ego decides which preference or not.  This is not immediate, but preferred.  To simple and shallow.  As the ego and image are desirous; wanting more and more.  Clearly disconnected.

The question of being rooted is essential, how else the immediacy?
How is something immediate without roots?  We feel a connection when we see loved ones, hear water flow, feel the breeze soothe our skin, touch without fear or smell a chalice aroma.  Are they not immediate?

Suppose a disconnection with the senses.  Than what takes place? Nothing.  You are a dead thing.  Thus, when music enters, sprouted roots are stimulated, and for a songs short life, connects us with the whole, thereby, the immediacy!  Something pure would do that.

Agreement#29

Often we find 'agreeing' a simple form of quelling potential tension or social bonding.

Agreements are illusions.  Bridled in reflection as that which reflects is the reflection.  Or equal.  Thereby, agreeing is torn, unsure, and rapt in time.

'Agreeing to disagree'...is but born of the same stuff, bound by the love of itself, honor, praise, futility and isolation.  Take root, and agree to strife, pain, and fear.  Through that you come into the light of expansion, unbridled sight and wisdom.

Then witness 'agreement' without cover or veils.  Then shall you walk away from a temple at odds.   www.osho.com

Paradox of Eating

  1. There are restaurants across the globe who'll get penalized if they give away food to those in need.  So the food goes to waste.
  2. Some eat so much, they create conditions where the body collapses and destroys itself.
  3. There are some who eat so much, they have to eat something else for a while--having a choice.
  4. There is so much food, that we can afford to throw it away and wait for more to come without worry.
  5. There is so much food, there are contests celebrating who can eat the most.
On the other hand...
  1. There are so many going hungry, the restaurants could've feed them with extra to spare.
  2. For the hungry right now, there is no such thing as eating too much.  They can't imagine collapsing from over eating.
  3. There is no such thing as having a choice--what is given will be eaten graciously.
  4. For the hungry, throwing something away is what the careless do.
  5. Celebrating who can eat the most?...This is what the unconscious do.  www.mindful.org  www.osho.com

Ip'id: The Tree

I have heard--Ip'id was teaching a group of young children; he explained how he was once a tree and a lizard before being in the form of a man they see now.  The children were amazed by this story, so much so that they told their parents the story of his life as he told it.  All the parents thought this was nonsense and contrary to their beliefs.  They argued, "Life is as it has been written and the way we believe." Finally, they accused him of filling their children's minds with lies, and untruths.  In short, they didn't want their children disillusioned about the truth of human life.  He replied, "Upon a solid and unwavering foundation which is rooted as a tree can life spring. There is no discussion over what is written with this rational."

Unmoved, Ip'id continued the next day to teach as he did the day before, but with another group of children; the parents who protested had removed their children.  When Ip'id received word of their decision, he decided to organize a class for those adults only. The parents agreed, still concerned about good and truthful education for their children and Ip'id's rational did make curious sense.
In the first class, he went around to each parent and described the strengths and weaknesses of each one of them when they were their children's age.  They were skeptical of his deductions, until he then described their then teacher, and of his mannerisms which stunned them into silence as he could not have known him.
The next class, all the original children were back under his teachings--they were please.  Ip'id was asked what he did to persuade their parents.
He said, "I asked only one question; "Who can explain how I was never a tree?"

Choice and Reward #25

The illusion of choice is a patriotic notion in the world; to have a choice is to represent freedom of it.  Look closely at this.  Where in our lives are we the initiator? Said the thinker.
Do we offer the Regulations, Laws or faith to the public? How about the material goods in the stores?  Did we initiate anything?  How then are we making a choice when it has been made for us?  This is not a trick question, merely direct.  The reality is, we choose from what is offered to choose from.  Who is this thinker for us? Authority?
With the accepted conditioning of individuality, we think and enjoy making a choice in reference to our freedoms.  Look at this carefully.  All our choices, which are now in your possession, have already been made for you by culture and history, we simply chose from the offerings.
Remember, there is always an origin to our actions—solidifying an entity.  Be aware, our choices are created by the offering--from parents, priest, police, etc.--which is the illusion of the ego believing it has the right-to-choose.

Forget not, everything given has a Master which approves what is taken.  This is our reward?

Image and Tradition #23

It’s a tradition to have an image of state, self, faith, love, desire or rebirth.  Just as at night we have an image of tomorrow and what to expect.

We expect good things from ourselves, friends, family and even strangers, which is expected traditionally.  This is the image we have of living which is a tradition.

One can’t live without the other; tradition is as image reflecting tradition or a foundation of an image from which to build a cultural tradition.

Although, this is a narrow form of living; from within the limits of an image, draped in tradition.  For in the image, there is the history of conflict and violence.

In the end, how is one to escape violence without destroying the image within the tradition?

As we look at Life with our hearts, where truth lies, we’ve searched within ourselves, solving those questions of violence. And once the veil fades, there waiting, is our love of life.

Actuality and the False#22

You’re thinking of becoming a singer, lawyer, teacher, athlete and so forth but this is false.  Is it a false pursuit? Is it indeed an actuality?
When someone says “I’m a singer”, are they?  The mind will tell us we are, but there is no connection with anything but the ego.  Still, are they not just a human being acting the part?  Is part of something the whole?  We don’t partially try singing; we do or don’t.  Life isn’t partially taking place, we’re not partially alive, thus, there is the promise of being a singer which is a false thing or imagined.
Let me put it this way; a cat is born to be a creature of earth, not a cat, tiger or lion.  The cat is unaware of our human game, so it just acts like a cat no matter what we teach it to do.  This is an actuality.
There is nothing false about a cat being a cat, but there is about a human trying to be a singer.  Please, don’t be offended if you are.
Note that if you cut your hand, what happens?  You bleed instantly but at a micro-level, the body is reacting to the actuality of this reality.  The body isn’t thinking about reacting, it is; just as people are not born to do false things in a false environment created by man.

Action/non action #21

Are action and non-action related?
In our daily thinking, we see through beliefs; justification for culture, tradition, history, love and faith.
By thinking, we implying something is moving from a sorrowful place to one of clarity. For example, we believe action is good for getting things done, brighter future and a good life.
Realize that thought is not an action and that non-action is represented by the following.
    • Fear, rules, expectation, doubt, desire and belief.
    • Indecision about oneself, others and the future.
    • Troubled by the days, tomorrow and yesterday.
    • Conflict with friends or yourself.

Looking closely at non-action, (seeing the origin and purpose of boundaries) frees us to experience the full exhilaration of action in its purest forms.  That means--
    • Recognize that boundaries (rules, procedures, fear) are within us.
    • Be honest with yourself, and see that you are a limited being. (Don’t see it as a criticism)
    • Meditation frees us of our non-action behavior, reacting as a transcending action.

As we all desire freedom, understanding non-action, frees us into action and from form.

Unconscious and Conscious #18

  1. There are state-of-mind debates; whether it's conscious or unconscious and what constitutes this state.  Then what?  You don't hear that while having breakfast, and at that moment, is isn't very important.  One is merely hungry.  But the question lies within the action of that state, its root function.  This root is intelligence or unconscious.
  2. We've heard false representation by the conditioned or conscious state which interprets itself as consciousness or being awake.  Also, we've heard, while unconscious--which stands to basic reasoning--we're in another state or unaware.   Yet, the unconscious action to the conscious mind is an intelligent root action--illusive to the conscious.  Thus, intelligence is not customarily awake, but observant, vital and watchful.
  3. We see this as consciousness only controls superficial actions as debates, progressive pursuits and desires.  And what's “un” about that?  The opposite of being conscious is nothing, but the conscious mind is unaware of itself and this state.  Thereby debate.  We desire to undue conflict, yet under the illusion of conscious, it remains no more than a secure thought.
  4. By mere comparison, the unconscious mind wants nothing to do with nothing, on the contrary, it's fearful of being and doing nothing while distracted and wanting everything.  Just as we cannot undue violence and transform to a state of non-violence with debate.  There is either something or nothing.  These unconscious debates are like trying to find where the wind originates.  Alas, it is a wiser and unconscious act to enjoy it than wonder of its birth.www.deepakchopra.com

Success is not Isolated#124

Go out and get an education so you can be a success in life.  What a mouthful and a challenge for a mind following this false path. This is not criticism, but is not "success" an illusion if we are not sharing in its making?  How is there such a thing on an isolated basis?
We say, 'Go get it and be happy'.  On this path, to have something, it must be taken, even if given to you, it must first be taken from somewhere.  Is a Movie Star a success because they are popular and people are taking pictures of them?  Is that success; to be seen different than others, isolated?  Look at the successful, are they without worry and sorrow?  Sure, they have the financial resources to meet superficial needs and requirements, but success?  This false success is at our expense, literally, but clearly this is not the success I'm referring to.
  • Success is not taking or reaching the top of anything because it is not external or superficial.  No, this is not the success we aspire to be.  Is that not why you are reading this because you are still searching?  Because you are still curious as the mind is open, expanding, wondering, aware and observant.  You will never settle on the commercial idea or image of success.
  • You see a deeper and everlasting success as a human that needs no perfecting.  This is why you are hear...to wonder, to find out, to flower your wisdom which has presented you with a depth unlike ever imagine within the limitation of traditional success.
  • No job, car, real estate, beautiful girl or boy will ever do success proper like the success of intelligence, requiring no taking, and contains no sorrow or false dreams. www.eckharttolle.com

Relationships and Identity#19

Relationship is everything around and within us.  The things and people we come in contact with, either physical, visual or mentally, they all have an effect on the creation of our Identify.

The friends and enemies we have are a result of the interaction, whether pleasant or not.  Meaning we either excepted the relationship, inadvertently, for the building of our image or rejected for the same unconscious reason.

  1. We have friends because they reflect the image of ourselves, therefore it builds our identity.
  2. We have enemies for the same reason, thereby, a rejection of our self-image which still builds our identity.
  3. Therefore the Identity is the result of acceptance and rejection via our relationships with each other; strangers or friends.
However, are our relationships unconscious?  Meaning, are they without conflict and everlasting?  To see this, the origin is important to understand.  If we don't have a relationship with this origin then behavior is unconscious.  Such as...
  1. How are we introduced to people and the environment around us?  Do we pollute because the people around us do?
  2. Do we hate or love because of that introduction?  This plays a very crucial role in unconscious behavior because when it's never challenged or contradicted then it's never questioned or a social concern.  Thereby it festers.
In looking closely at relationships around you--because we are not alone--we take on an observational role, then are able to apply the observation unto our relationships and identity.

Find a book or do a search on behavior and discover the origin of your identity.  As well, do an honest and factual self-analysis of your relationships with...everything.  We'd love to meet the real you.

Experience? #17

Suppose there is no such thing as experience?  But if so, does it start with a sensation or thought?  A physical or mental stimulation?  What is the beginning of anything of the mind/consciousness?  If we ask the question then the observation, answer or theory is still illusive.  The origin of anything is crucial to experience--yes, we can say its a neural response, receptors doing this and that.  But why are we concerned with experience?  To feel alive? Suppose there is an answer then what?  We can only be sure some scientist, priest, guru, mathematician etc. will step up and contradict the information, knowledge, perception etc. with his or hers.  Are we to believe and value those of authority or our own perception, sensation or observations?
It's tricky.  Lets say YOU as a physical form is a thousand years old, and you carry no name, power, belongings, desires, past history, nothing within you but the cessation of silence, energy and vitality.  YOU the physical form without worry of "self" and "image".  Traveling through the centuries without quarrel or concern, nothing called the "mind" or "thought" to disillusion your future thousand years, which you haven't been counting.  Without YOU, there is no ending or beginning, meaning, we've been here thousands of years or more, returning over and over again, renewed in the variable of humanity and expression.
Of course, it is of no value in a form without YOU struggling to understand experience.  When you already are the experience...just moving beautifully with the eternal.
Whatever you feel created you, and or is guiding your actions, we are that experience which is a totality everlasting.  As mentioned, the origin of something is crucial and we are the experience of that thing.

Conclusion and Security#15

Suppose when you're leaving the house, you become noticeably afraid or on guard.  You look left, right, over your shoulder, and stop to listen while walking to and from your car, yet when you return home it all fades away the instant you walk in the door. Whew!  I made it back, now the mind is secure again in a general sense.  It can finally "conclude" with its understanding of security which is behind locked doors and walls.  Of course, this is a dramatic description, but is a real reality, but isn't address so openly.  We rarely hear conversation like this when we step in the house; "Hi honey.  I made it back through all the crime, killings and social mayhem that we're going to see on the news.  How was your day?"
However, there are subtleties to security, like locking the car and house door or complaining as if "other" people are the problem.   It's easier to address when it's not "me".  I mentioned in another Blog, how "one thing leads to the next" or "gives birth to something else".  The same applies to this title work; the conclusions we act upon "become" the securities we're victim to.  Let's suppose our house is our mind which is secure with the idea and image of it being a "safe" place.  We lock our doors.  Yet when we leave that sanctuary what happens?  We leave the image behind and are exposed, unable to control things outside the security zone or sanctuary.  There are, of course, variables to consider, but see the fact; when the mind/humans are conclusive, as in the security of holding conclusions, they are expressed as tradition, images, culture, belief and visions etc.
How does one act when it isn't first conclusive?  How do we find "trust" or "belief" in someone if not for its representation in culture, tradition and self-image?  There is always an anchor (house) in which to act from.  How is a boat stable without an anchor?  If not, its set adrift, like a mind exposed and free of security--a positive event.  Still, as the mind is conclusive with ideas and images etc., it becomes repetitive, fearful, selfish, vulnerable, tired, predictable, violent and depressive.  Then why seek security?  Because its all the mind is.  So, in observance of ourselves, we see it's not simply a matter of social interaction, rather is BORN through our interaction, to be sure.  It is a core action or condition, and if it's in your house, it's in you.

Intelligence and Intellect#14

Don't you hate misleading or setup questions like--Hey!  You're smart aren't ya?  How do I open this CD case?  You answer; when you find out, let me know.  Still, is "smart" a form of intellect?  Doesn't it imply one has acquired knowledge about this or that?  These faucets of knowledge are call them parents, lawyers, doctors, politicians, commanders, teachers, friends, ex-lovers etc.  Everyone has a bit of knowledge which is relative to something.  Some act as thought the info is important to our survival, and some might be, but is that what's actually taking place?  Is "knowledge" perpetuating our survival or just creating conflict and sorrow on the planet?  Think about it.  No! Observe it.  Everything man has created is in conflict with us.  Its obvious we can't control what we make with decisions NOT based on pure intelligence.  Why?  Isn't that important to understand about "knowledge"?  What it creates?  Not how progressive it is.  Now, suppose we acted purely on intelligence, then what?  First, we must be clear of the difference, and then we can act or is there an action to intelligence?  Oh!  My, that's good.  Is there?  Yes, there is, but it acts without conflict or progression.  For example; when we judge someone or something, which are we actually using?  Intellect or Intelligence?  We spend millions of dollars sending our children and adults to school to become knowledgeable which, thereby, is supposed to build the intellectual.  Isn't judgment a by-product of knowledge?  In that, one is so knowledgeable, he or she compares another unworthy of being their intellectual equal because of the dreaded actions of "judgment" which are based on "knowledge".
Lets take the same "act of judging" and apply it to intelligence.  Again, what is the difference?  See for yourself.  Intelligence is beyond the simple and limited act of comparison--does not "intelligence" imply energy, something without foreign influence?  Something beyond our human teachings?  How would "intelligence" act?  Well, how does a baby, puppy, a flower, grass, water, air, trees, bees, birds, body, etc, act?  They seem to get along intelligently.  Simple.  They act without judgment, without a single knowledgeable word from a human.  Makes me wonder when I hear; "there's intelligent life out there somewhere".  Out there is here.  Do we see how intellect clouds our intelligence?

Freedom and Knowledge #13

Is freedom acquired from knowledge?  Looking at society, we see all forms of knowledge being expressed in our immediate living environment--the cars, boats, planes, things in our houses etc.  But they are merely the tools of progression, the outcome of our learning.  We went to school, college or university to learn something to better ourselves and the world as a whole.  Did that happen?  Are we free because of knowledge?  Take a closer look, maybe you've had this awareness.  Again, you're full of knowledge about a certain something, but is all your education making you free and free from what?  We work to get to school, worked for the diploma, worked to get the job, work at the job or career and now hope to work until retirement.  Yes, this is very linear, but 90% of us are in this boat.
You see, knowledge is like a blanket over society, keeping everything connected in a web of progression--a constant cycle of pushing knowledge into the human being and hoping it fixes all the problems its creating.  Interesting.  The very thing it creates is the thing we're trying to overcome--the outcome of that knowledge. We truly hope that it somehow gives us some form of freedom from it all.  All what?  Our living condition, of course.  We want freedom from the violence, hate, war, suffering, hunger, disease and so on.  Don't we?
We want freedom from our suffering and sorrow, and presently, the only way to achieve that is through artificial means--knowledge.  Yet on the contrary, knowledge is where all our modern day conflicts are born from--it creates bombs, nuclear anything, cars, methods for retrieving oil, pollution, guns, plastics etc.  See this in our world, in your house, in the garage, living room, on TV or outside in the streets.  We pursue this pattern in response to our sense of natural self-preservation, but artificially, we know this is not a natural response.  Yet, we pursue this path in hopes the outcome leads to the promise we see in it--money for excessive or leisure pass-times.  Lets face it.  When it's time to stop work and enjoy the time in between clocking out and clocking back in, human beings just want to be lazy, do as we socially please.  With money in our pockets we enjoy foods, drink, events and nature--these are very basic and common human pleasures.  Do little as possible with others, eat, drink and sleep it all off.  What do we do on vacations, holidays, weekends or all?  Exactly.  These are expressions of freedom, although manufactured via knowledge, the result is exercising a form of freedom.
We're not saying we don't need to work and participate in society.  What then is freedom?  Not the idea, of course.  Ideas haven't made a single human being free, because our, so-called, freedom is socially connected--if something happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.  Let me clarify a bit more--if there is a war on the other side of the world, you don't have to hear the bullets to be effected.  The very "knowing" of war is the effect which either turns into empathy or relief.  Lets put the idea of freedom aside, and just look at what freedom is--isn't it to be free of conflict in the mind and outwardly in the world?  Meaning, if we're tormented inside then we will push that torment out into the world, and likewise, if one is content inwardly then the world will know and share that content.  Superficially, it also means to have opportunities in a country to open a business, get an education, escape political this and that and live.  Yet, running from one form of freedom to another is redundant, in that, these forms of freedom are all supported by knowledge, thus, will never produce true freedom of the mind.  There it is.
What is freedom which contains no knowledge nor history?  Knowledge is history.  It is born in the past, but is the mind aware of that fact and how it effects us?  No need to get deep here, but the mind is only aware in the absence of knowledge.  Knowledge has its place, but that place is limited as knowledge is, see it in our lives as there is a rule, procedure, practice, code, tradition, interpretation or pre-something in every aspect of our lives.  That's the limitation of ideal freedom, but intelligence is everlasting, expressive, vital and without a past.  See yourself asking, if freedom has a past, as real freedom can only express itself without a past or tradition.  Still, our knowledge is more important then our intelligence because its profitable--the mind is conditioned to it.  See this--if a bird had to "think" to fly, would it?

Energy and Waste#12

What is energy in its purist form?  How would I know outside of my physical form?  I would not, it is not a knowable thing.  True, everything is energy and pure.  This energy is intelligence, functioning to keep itself, not "me", alive as long as possible or rather, free of conflict.  Conflict is bad, and I won't go into it.  No, wait!  I do have to because it is the root of "waste", of energy that is.  How?  Well, lets take an outside view at it in the form of pets.  First, in the process, we want one, then prepare the house, assign duties as to who does what or picks-up what.  Then we pick it up, and immediately confine it to the barriers of the house, apartment, cage or tank.  These limits are a reflection of our state--if we are conditioned to limits, then we will express that limitation onto our pets.  Don't be upset if this doesn't match your ideal image of "loving" and taking care of a pet.  We're just looking.  However, this is the meaning and most importantly, the physical actions of "waste".  We waste energy by limiting its' expression, however, good our intentions may be.
Is a dog really a dog at full expression while pacing in the house or backyard?  Is a bird fully functioning sitting in a cage in the living-room, unable to spread his wings?  Are we free "human beings" when filled with images, beliefs, faiths, politics, power, money, pride or ego?  Surely, we as creatures are not expressing ourselves freely with full intelligence in a world governed by authority.  These are not questions of agreement, but ones of observance in our systematic lives.
What happens when the pets behavior reaches past the limits we set for it?  We see, there may be verbal assaults, physical violence, suddenly dropping it by the highway, giving it away--you get the idea.  We generally work at placing the animal back within our limits because we are "its" authority.  See it when you are limited or wasting energy, as you are told by some form of authority "when", "how" and "why" you can't do or say something  And, please, don't let your ego get in the way of observing this now.  Just look at how you feel and have felt--as soon as the thought rises, that's the limitation or waste.  It blocks the energy from flowing freely, causing you to pause and "think" of a counter measure.  Do you see?...Once something of intelligence is stopped, it ceases to function.  We've experienced it--you can't do this or that, therefore, you think of some way around or through it.  Why?  Because the human being is bursting inside to be free of wasteful behavior, which is why we resist and protest so feverishly--the intelligence is trying to flow but keeps getting wasted by limits.  That felt good.

Memory and Time #11

What we remember seems secondary to how it was created.  Do we think about trash once it leaves our hand?  Or the traffic once we pull into the garage?  What about some angry encounter with someone at the store?  No, because they were stupid.  Truth is, we're relieved to forget the conflicts in life and retain the good memories.  Who wants to live with a head full of anger and unpleasant images?...Maybe that stupid person at the story.  But even he, like most of us, have never ever given thought to the actions of the memory and its relationship with "time", not chronological time.  You knew that.  How then is memory created? Consider, initially, there must be space to fill.  Generally, if you're reading this, your memory, at least, is functioning.  Is that not the actions of the memory, created by knowledge, culture or experience?  Consider, that space is being conditioned and filled with a artificial reality called "thought".  This enables us to read this.  In addition, this is where "time" comes in, but I won't explain the abstractions associated.  Still, we experience it as normal and, therefore, don't question it's creation or origin.  One might suppose, humans are supposed to think.  Now, there's a debate!  Simply, "time" is progression, whereas, one thing must always come before the other, just like reading this passage (one-word-before-the-other).  Observe as you read--we don't try and look at the entire page for meaning, on the contrary, we look at each word in sequence--a progression or time.  By the time you've finished its minutes later.  And "thought" is created in the same way which is a progression.  As there is always some "thing" or form which is created before something else, to use or be put in, meaning, the brain has space which creates the memory to form, so "time" can create "thought" which IS "time".  It lives in the memory and throughout the body.  This is how memory is created.   We must realize how important relationship is on our planet?  What is your relationship with the world?  I hope this is not the first time you've heard or considered this query.
